The Costa Blanca, Spain

Situated between Alicante and Valencia, you will find the Marina Alta of Costa Blanca. Favoured by many people year after year for its rugged coastline and miles of long sandy beaches, the area has so much to offer.

Costa Blanca is so called due to the many Almond Trees that once adorned the coastline. In spring, the almond tree blossom is a mass of pure white and it is said that sailors could identify the shores from this, and so gave the name Costa Blanca (white coast).

Surprisingly green, the area benefits from a microclimate, created by the Sierra Mountains that surround the villages and coast. This means that we benefit from around 300 days of sunshine per year.

Costa Blanca is a very diverse mixture of traditional inland villages, such as Jalon Valley and cosmopolitan towns by the beach, such as Moraira. The area attracts people from all over Europe and every taste is catered for.

In summer, you are able to spend long lazy days at the beach and in winter, there are some amazing places to go walking either along the rocky coastline or up into the mountains, stopping for tapas in one of the many inland restaurants.

The options for fun are endless. With many activities on hand such as; diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, boating, fishing, golfing, horse riding, climbing, mountain biking, walking to name but a few.

Other places of interest include; Water Park, Theme Park, Sea World, Zoos, Guadalest fortress village and caves. There is also the possibility to travel to Ibiza and Majorca from the larger ferry port of Denia, only 30 minutes from Moraira.

Fiesta time in Costa Blanca is really something to see! There are so many to choose from, be it the magnificent 'Moors & Christians' parade whereby the local people of the village host an event of such colour and intricate costumes to reenact the country’s history, or
the Fallas where huge ephagies are paraded along the streets and then set fire to beneath an explosion of fireworks! Ask us for more information on dates that are simply too good to miss!

If all of this sounds too busy, then head to any of the 'Blue Flag' award winning beaches, such as Moraira with its gently shelving shores and relaxing atmosphere.

The Costa Blanca really does have something for everyone. Perhaps it's time to start 'Costa Living!'
